President Medvedev pointed out that requirements for crossing the border for individuals and companies must not become more stringent as the Customs Union enters into force.

Foreign economic policy and its role in the country's technological modernisation and innovative development were discussed at the meeting of the Commission, which took place on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

In his remarks, the President analysed the economic situation in Russia and the world and outlined Russia’s economic modernisation plans.

Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Ratifying the Protocol on Amendments and Addenda to the Agreement on the Customs Code of the Customs Union of November 27, 2009.

The law was passed by the State Duma on May 21, 2010 and approved by the Federation Council on May 26, 2010.
