Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the staff of the National Medical Research Centre for Haematology of the Russian Ministry of Health on the 100th anniversary of the centre’s founding.
The message reads, in part:
“You can rightly be proud of the Centre’s rich history and its founders – outstanding scientists, gifted physicians, and organisers who fully grasped the importance of the tasks before them. They made a huge contribution to the development of cutting-edge, much-needed areas of medicine and to national healthcare as a whole. Through tireless, selfless work, they established a tradition of honest service to their calling, to the people, and to the Fatherland.
Over the years, the National Medical Research Centre for Haematology has grown into a major, world-renowned institution. Within its walls, significant scientific research is carried out, and promising, truly unique treatment and rehabilitation methods and technologies are developed and brought into clinical practice. It is heartening that, far from resting on your laurels, you continue to enhance the powerful diagnostic and treatment capabilities for which your Centre is rightly famous, and you do a great deal to train young specialists. Thousands of patients, along with their families and friends, are sincerely grateful to you for your timely, highly skilled care, your compassion, and your attention.”
