The message reads, in part:

“Your Union was founded by distinguished military commanders, officers, and veterans of the Great Patriotic War. They met the trials they faced with honour and fulfilled their duty; more than anyone else, they understood the importance of upholding historical truth and preserving the memory of our people’s heroism on the battlefield and their labour achievements.

It is heartening to see the Russian Union of Veterans worthily upholding the traditions of service to the Motherland. By uniting in your ranks individuals dedicated to defending the interests of the Fatherland and ensuring national security, you have for many years carried out vital awareness-raising and charitable projects, placing particular emphasis on instilling patriotic values in the younger generation, and making a significant contribution to efforts to provide social support to combat veterans, heroes of the special military operation, and their families. It is for this reason that the work of the Russian Union of Veterans commands deep respect and authority within our society.”
