Vladimir Putin sent his profound condolences to the family and friends of Eduard Shevardnadze and to the entire Georgian people following the former statesman’s passing.
Mr Shevardnadze was former President of Georgia and former Foreign Minister of the Soviet Union. He died in Tbilisi at the age of 86.
