Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the State of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu.
The two leaders discussed various aspects of the tense situation in the Middle East. The Russian side has reiterated its unwavering support of resolving the problems and conflicts arising in the region exclusively via peaceful means.
In particular, Vladimir Putin emphasised the importance of supporting the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic and reinforcing its internal political stability by respecting the legitimate rights and interests of all ethnic and confessional communities.
In light of the recent escalation between Iran and Israel, the Russian side expressed its willingness to facilitate in every possible way the search for negotiated solutions to the Iran’s nuclear issue.
The two leaders agreed to continue their dialogue on pressing international and bilateral matters.
