Vladimir Putin sent congratulations to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam on his re-election.
The message reads, in part:
“The results of the vote at the plenum of the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) have clearly reaffirmed your significant political standing and recognised your dedicated work in shaping and implementing policies that accelerate Vietnam’s socioeconomic progress and uphold its interests on the international stage.
Russia greatly values your personal contribution to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between our two nations. We look forward to continuing our close collaboration in deepening all aspects of our bilateral ties – for the benefit of our peoples and in the interests of stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region.”
