Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to Russia’s Jews on Rosh Hashanah.
The message reads, in part:
“This holiday that marks the beginning of a new year in the Jewish calendar is calling the believers to repentance, to embrace and compassion, symbolises commitment to lofty moral ideals, which form the basis of all traditional religions.
A careful attitude to the history of its people and observance of ancient traditions serve today as a spiritual support for Russia’s Jews, who are making an important contribution to the country’s development, to strengthening interethnic and interfaith accord.”
