February 2, 2024, Tula

As part of his trip to the Tula Region, Vladimir Putin visited the regional oncology centre.

A new multidisciplinary oncology centre was built in Tula under the President’s instruction as part of the Healthcare national project. Construction started in October 2020 and was completed a year ahead of schedule. The facility received a licence to provide medical services and opened in November 2023. The new medical centre has more than 2,420 units of medical equipment, 40 of which are high-tech. The staff includes 230 doctors and 370 nurses.

Vladimir Putin viewed a video presentation on the work of the new oncology centre, inspected the surgery unit and the surgery department’s wards.

The President was accompanied by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Central Federal District Igor Shchegolev, Governor of the Tula Region Alexei Dyumin, and Acting Chief Physician of the Regional Clinical Oncology Centre Dmitry Istomin, who provided explanations.

At the end of the inspection, the President spoke briefly with the medical centre’s staff.
