Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants and guests of the National Sports Award presentation ceremony, which this year is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the government agency on fitness and sports.
The message reads, in part:
”I would like to emphasise that winning this prestigious award is a great honour and responsibility. After all, young people look up to you, outstanding Russian athletes. Therefore, it is important that in the pursuit of prizes and awards, you not only demonstrate skill and a determination to win, but also exhibit extraordinary personal qualities, mutual support and team cohesion. Through your example, you inspire others to reach new heights. And, of course, according to the established tradition, the award winners include legendary coaches, mentors, organisations, and even regions.
I would also like to highlight that the government will continue to create favourable conditions for training future champions. We will support large-scale initiatives aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in our society, as well as the development of sports and leisure infrastructure across Russia.“
