Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On Establishing the Foundation for the Preservation, Reconstruction of the Historical Image, and Development of Sergiyev Posad.
In order to preserve and reconstruct the historical image of the city of Sergiyev Posad, as well as develop the city itself, being part of the Moscow Region, a national spiritual centre, and a tourist destination, the President decided to consider it worthwhile to create a Foundation for the preservation and reconstruction of the historical image, and development of the city of Sergiyev Posad, Moscow Region, as well as to provide this endeavor with state support. According to the executive order, the Government of Russia is the founder of the Foundation on behalf of the Russian Federation. According to the executive order, the Foundation’s property is to be formed using funds from the federal budget, as well as from voluntary contributions and donations, and other legal sources.
The Chair of the Foundation Council, as well as co-chairs and members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees are to be appointed by the President of the Russian Federation. This executive order appoints Sergei Chemezov, head of Rostec State Corporation, Chairman of the Foundation Board. Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino and Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus are appointed co-chairs of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
