Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the White Steamer children's music festival, the gala concert of which is taking place at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow.
The message reads, in part:
“This ambitious and sought-after project carries a crucial enlightening, spiritual and moral mission. It uses the country’s best stages to bring together talented young children who are dealing with life difficulties, opens doors to the captivating world of art, provides them with opportunity to showcase themselves, their talents and abilities, and to find friends and like-minded people.
Of course, the White Steamer festival contributes significantly to promoting children's creativity and the wonderful traditions of philanthropy and charity that Russia has always been famous for.”

The White Steamer festival is an ambitious social project that supports musically gifted children in difficult life situations. Its main goals are to identify, support and rehabilitate children through art, assist them in obtaining a professional music education. The project was founded in 2005. More than 2,000 children have participated in it since its launch and more than 100 graduates of the White Steamer charitable programme have gone on to study at leading music schools and educational institutions in Russia and abroad.
