First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko chaired a meeting of the Coordinating Committee for holding contests for Presidential grants for projects in the field of culture, art and the creative industries.
The Coordinating Committee approved a list of projects – winners of the first grant contest held by the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives. In all, the Committee received 12,460 applications from non-government commercial organisations, individual entrepreneurs, representatives from the business sector and municipal organisations. The grants, worth a total of over 3.2 billion rubles, were awarded to winning projects from 79 Russian regions.
