A ceremony was hosted in the State Kremlin Palace to present the transferable Presidential banner to the students of the Ataman Ivan Biryukov Cossack Cadet Corps (Astrakhan Region), which won the 2023 contest for the best cadet corps.
The banner was presented by Presidential Aide, Chair of the Council for Cossack Affairs Dmitry Mironov. Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Southern Federal District Vladimir Ustinov, Astrakhan Region Governor Igor Babushkin, Head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Education Andrei Korneyev, Metropolitan Nikon of Astrakhan and Kamyzyak, and Deputy Ataman of the All-Russia Cossack Society Igor Kazarezov delivered messages of greetings and advice.
Among the ceremony participants were members of the Presidential Council for Cossack Affairs, the All-Russia Cossack Society and the Russian Orthodox Church.
