Seminar-conference on implementing State Ethnic Policy Strategy

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Magomedsalam Magomedov and Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Burenkov held a district seminar-conference devoted to the practice and tasks of the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in implementing the State Ethnic Policy Strategy.

The meeting was attended by Head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov, Head of the Chuvash Republic Oleg Nikolayev, deputy governors and representatives of regional government bodies, expert communities, and public organisations, as well as members of the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations Vladimir Ivanov and Anna Polezhayeva.

Matters pertaining to interethnic relations and the situation in each region within the district were discussed.

Emphasis was placed on the implementation of the President’s instructions to the top officials of the constituent entities within the Volga Federal District, specifically with regard to the necessity of completing without delay the drafting of plans and amendments to strategic planning documents and state programmes. This entails ensuring the alignment of goals, tasks, priorities, target indicators, and other provisions of the new State Ethnic Policy Strategy for the period up to 2036, and of instructions designed to enhance the efficacy of the implementation of state ethnic policy at the local level.

Following the meeting, appropriate decisions were adopted.

Pursuant to the President’s instruction, seminar-conferences are held annually in each federal district.
