Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants in the event marking the 35th anniversary of the Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia, and the Far East.
The message reads, in part:
“I am pleased to greet you at the opening of the congress and to congratulate you on the 35th anniversary of the Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia, and the Far East of the Russian Federation.
I would like to emphasise that the state places a priority on strengthening interethnic harmony and preserving the unique cultural and ethnic identity of all peoples in our country. It is heartening to see that esteemed public organisations such as yours are playing a significant role in this large-scale work. Over the years, your association has brought together leaders of regional and national organisations, renowned politicians, leading experts, scientists, and volunteers to address important and timely challenges. In close collaboration with government bodies, important and impactful initiatives have been implemented in the fields of education, public awareness, and the development of social infrastructure. A wide range of projects have been successfully implemented, all aimed at preserving the languages, unique customs and traditions of the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia, and the Far East of Russia. Such rich and multifaceted efforts deserve the highest recognition. I would also like to highlight the dedication of the indigenous peoples who honourably uphold the military and patriotic traditions of their ancestors, courageously defending our common Fatherland.
I am confident that your meeting will proceed in a creative and constructive spirit, contributing to the effective resolution of the pressing issues facing both the association and Russia as a whole.”
