Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the organisers and participants in the international expedition Journey to the Heart of Eurasia, which started in Moscow.
The message reads, in part:
“The international expedition Journey to the Heart of Eurasia has taken the start. This ambitious project brings together scientists, cultural figures, business leaders, and youth movement representatives from five friendly nations: Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
The expedition will cover more than 8,000 kilometres and will pass through around 30 cities across five countries. At each stop along the route, participants will host scientific seminars, presentations, business forums, and public meetings. The journey will culminate in Dushanbe, where expedition members will participate in the first Central Asia International Economic Forum.
The Journey to the Heart of Eurasia is a remarkable example of public diplomacy. It is especially symbolic that this expedition is taking place during the year marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a pivotal event in the shared history of our nations. I am confident that this joint initiative will help preserve and strengthen the enduring traditions of friendship and mutual support that enabled our forebears to overcome the threat of Nazi oppression. Moreover, it will contribute to the continued growth of constructive cooperation across economic, cultural, and other spheres.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone involved in organising the expedition and wish all participants a safe journey filled with vivid and lasting memories.”
