Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the Unmanned Systems: Technologies of the Future International Forum.
The message reads, in part:
“Welcome to the opening of the Unmanned Systems: Technologies of the Future International Forum that has brought to Moscow prominent scientists, engineers, young inventors, entrepreneurs, experts and students from dozens of countries.
Your area of expertise comprises the development of new-generation transport and service systems that can bring qualitative transformation to life around us. They can operate in any environment at all, on the ground, on and under water, in the sky, and in outer space. At the forum’s exhibition today, one can find driverless trains, harvesters, aircraft, robotic devices, and learn about various applications in agriculture, energy, the timber industry, construction, trade, and other economic sectors.
I want to stress that it is extremely important that the advancements of our design and research teams fully meet the demands of businesses and swiftly proceed from experiments and testing phases to broad implementation. It is also necessary to ensure the safety of unmanned systems along with their security against unauthorised use, with primary focus on improving respective legislation. The state is ready to make every effort to ensure the effectiveness of regulation. We are certainly ready to develop cooperation in unmanned systems with reliable partners, both on a bilateral basis and in the EAEU, BRICS and SCO formats, as well as to create joint ventures, training centres, and infrastructure for UAV operation.
I am certain that this forum will demonstrate the high potential of the Russian unmanned system industry and will produce specific initiatives, interregional and international projects that will be certainly in high demand.”
