Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the Russian Pedagogical Congress.
The message reads, in part:
“This forum has brought together teachers, scientists, mentors, as well as government officials and representatives of public organisations from across our vast country to discuss the priority tasks of the national education system development. Such a reputable gathering fully corresponds to its main goal, for education, especially its accessibility and quality, remains a decisive factor and the foundation of Russia’s long-term success.
It is important to note that domestic pedagogic has always been distinguished by its depth and diversity. Therefore, we must take into account the best traditions of the pre-revolutionary, Soviet, and modern Russian school in our joint plans for the future. Building on this strong foundation, we need to address key issues from updating the curriculum content to training of highly qualified teachers. And, of course, it is essential to ensure in all regions a comparable and dignified level of remuneration and working conditions for teachers and lecturers, hedging them around with the respect and care they truly deserve.
I hope that during open round discussions you will be able to exchange ideas and best practices, drawing on the experience of regions, major cities, and rural areas alike. Together, we will be able to create an advanced, dynamic, and creative education system: one that is living, in every sense of the word, a system designed to unlock the potential of every individual and help meet strategic challenges of our country’s development.”
