The President sent a message of greetings to the participants and guests of the gala evening dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russia Abroad in Moscow.
The message reads, in part:
“Over these years it [the House of Russia Abroad] has grown to become a scientific, educational and cultural centre of the national scale. Thanks to the immense devotional activity of its team led by Natalia Solzhenitsyna, our friends from various countries of the world, and to the support of the Moscow authorities, its museum collection and library stocks and being permanently replenished including with books and periodicals of Russian émigrés, rare archival documents and photos, pieces of art and personal belongings of outstanding compatriots who found themselves outside their Motherland for various reasons but kept a profound spiritual connection with it.
It is important that the House performs a great exhibition and publishing activity, it has a cinema studio and carries out diversified research projects to study the creative heritage of the Russian émigré community. All this helps strengthening friendly contacts with compatriots in all continents, promoting traditional values of Russian society, of the Russian language and culture and, is of course, conducive to the development of international humanitarian partnership.
I believe that you will continue your mission to preserve historical memory and promote the restoration of our people's common cultural and historical space.”
