On National Unity Day, Vladimir Putin took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky on Red Square in Moscow.
The traditional ceremony brought together representatives of various religious denominations, as well as members of public and youth organisations, including the Movement of the First, the Young Army (Yunarmiya), Volunteers of Victory, the Voin Centre, wards of the Committee of the Families of Soldiers of the Fatherland, the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, the Association of Veterans of the Special Military Operation, activists of the Search Movement of Russia, and the Popular Front.
The President had a brief conversation with members of youth organisations.
National Unity Day, celebrated on November 4, commemorates the liberation of Moscow from foreign invaders in 1612 by a people’s volunteer army led by Minin and Pozharsky.
