Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants and guests of the 27th World Russian People’s Council, which is being held in Moscow.
The message reads, in part:
“For over 25 years, your Council has united representatives of government bodies and religious organisations, many political parties and movements, business people, and workers of education, culture and science, who meet to discuss issues of crucial significance for the development of Russia and the Russian World. These include strengthening the cohesion of society and traditional spiritual and moral values, addressing the demographic issue, and providing patriotic education for young people. Your sincere support for our heroes – participants in the special military operation and their families – deserves our utmost respect.
I believe that the theme of the current meeting, For the 80th Anniversary of Victory: Military and Spiritual Heroism, is exceptionally topical and important. We are proud of the courage of our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who set an example of unity and selflessness at the time of the most difficult trials, defending the freedom and sovereignty of our Motherland. The memory of their courage and heroism holds enduring moral, public and state significance for us and for the future of Russia. It gives new strength to our people, steeling their spirit and will. It inspires the current generation of defenders of our people’s security, who are fighting against neo-Nazis and liberating historical Russian territories.
I am confident that the ideas and initiatives formulated during the 27th World Russian People’s Council will be relevant and will help us attain the ambitious goals set before Russia.”
