Greetings to participants in the International Practical Science Forum Without a Statute of Limitations: Nuremberg, 80 Years On

November 20, 2025

The President sent greetings to participants in the International Practical Science Forum Without a Statute of Limitations: Nuremberg, 80 Years On.

The message reads, in part:

“Your gatherings are always significant public events. This year, the International Practical Science Forum Without a Statute of Limitations: Nuremberg, 80 Years On brought together representatives of government bodies, youth and volunteer organisations, academic and expert communities, as well as archivists and museum professionals – all those who have dedicated themselves to preserving the truth about the dramatic and tragic events of the Great Patriotic War, and who are genuinely committed to restoring historical and human justice.

I would emphasise that it is largely thanks to your enthusiasm, dedication, and personal commitment that search expeditions continue to be organised. Painstaking work is carried out to declassify archival materials – documents, photographs and film footage, and other valuable initiatives are being implemented, shedding fresh light on the horrific atrocities committed by the Nazis and their accomplices against peaceful civilians in the occupied Soviet territories. These crimes have no statute of limitations, and an unequivocal judgement was delivered 80 years ago by the Nuremberg International War Crimes Tribunal. Its norms and principles remain relevant today: they help us firmly counter attempts to distort historical facts and guide us in seeking appropriate responses to current global challenges and threats.”
