Vladimir Putin extended his greetings to the staff of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Centre Foundation (Yeltsin Centre) on its 10th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“Today marks the 10th anniversary of the Yeltsin Centre, an institution established not only to preserve and study the legacy of Russia’s first President and to honour his memory, but also to examine a complex, challenging, and often contradictory period of radical transformation. This era is an inseparable part of our country’s centuries-long, continuous historical path, and the centre’s educational mission is grounded precisely in this understanding and in its comprehensive view of Russia’s historical development.
Particular attention is devoted to the figure of Boris Yeltsin and to the institution of the presidency. Explaining its role, the stages of its formation and its evolution remains one of the centre’s key tasks, which it has carried out with dignity. Over ten years of active work, the Yeltsin Centre has grown into a major educational and cultural complex, implementing mostly projects with a social orientation. It has become a point of attraction for people of all ages and professions, and it enjoys broad popularity among young people who strive to study the history of their country and to grow intellectually and spiritually.”
